Cannabis flower is the dried herb of the female cannabis plant that carries with it the effects of its cannabinoids and terpenes along with plant waxes and oils. While THC and CBD are the best known cannabinoids there have been over one hundred different cannabinoids identified. These different cannabinoids contribute to the overall effects different strains produce and why some strains work better for people than others.
Cannabis flower traditionally fell into one of two categories, either Indica or Sativa which was generally assigned due to their origins. Indica plants were native to central Asia and India while Sativa came from more equatorial countries such Thailand, Mexico and Colombia. With modern growing and legalization there has been as massive trend toward hybrid strains which combine properties from both Indica and Sativa genetics to create a blend of the two.
